Clarinet

Clarinet is a type of woodwind instrument because you have to blow into the mouthpiece and is made of wood (generally black wood).  The instrument uses a single reed. The reed is attached to the mouthpiece by the ligature. You play the clarinet by holding it upright, blowing through the reed, and using your hands to changes the pitches by opening and closing the keys with the fingers. In the orchestra clarinets are usually located behind flutes and next to bassoons. There are different kinds of clarinet’s ranges, the most commons are: Bb clarinet, E-flat clarinet, and bass clarinet.
